Customer Review: Do not buy this TV
Brought this TV about a year and a half ago. About 3 months ago a small line appeared on the left side of the TV a couple of inches from the side. Annoying, but watchable. Toshiba has issued a extended warranty for the 46 inch version, but not for the 40inch, so they will do nothing about the issue. To top it off, a couple weeks ago the tv started having vertical lines appear on the whole left hand side of the screen, which basically makes the tv unwatchable. They of course will not do anything about this issue either, though it seems related…. customer service staff not helpful at all, just kept repeating that they “were sorry”, even though from searching online, this model seems to have a lot of issues with it. I will never buy another Toshiba again.
Customer Review: At 17 months this $1,500 TV is headed for a LANDFILL
Within 17 months of purchase, my Toshiba Regza (a $1,500 television set) is unusable. About 1/3 of the screen is covered with multicolored vertical lines. The authorized repair center wants $2,000 in total to fix the TV set (it requires an $1,800 part). Toshiba customer service tells me I am out of luck because the product is out of warranty. They were not particularly nice, helpful, understanding, or at all interested in learning more about what is an obvious design defect in an allegedly high-end product. It is within Toshiba’s discretion to service out of warranty products which have such profound failures within such a short period of time. I will never buy another Toshiba product and will share my negative experience with as broad an audience as is possible.
