I thought this item was a light but strong metal from the picture. It is actually painted compressed wood and is assembled like you would “Sauder” furniture, just without the align key. You only need a phillips screw driver and it’s pretty simple to install. Looks great bears the weight of a plasma that’s over 70lbs very well. IDEAL FOR PLACING THE TV IN A CORNER.
